About Sema Africa
Sema Africa was founded in 2012 by a collective of African social entrepreneurs determined to bridge gaps in education, health, and civic participation. Our name "Sema" (meaning "speak" in Swahili) reflects our commitment to amplifying unheard stories and driving systemic change.
Today, we operate in 6 countries, partnering with local organizations, governments, and volunteers to implement sustainable projects. With transparency and innovation at our core, we've reached over 100 communities, trained 5,000+ teachers, and provided scholarships to 1,200+ girls.
Join us in building a future of dignity and opportunity.
